Brainstorm la Bruxelles pe UE-Rusia. 4 ministri de externe UE. iata cateva citate interesante. Ieri la Bxl a avut loc si reuniunea grupului de prieteni a Ucrainei – 14 state membre reprezentate.
Ukraine
“To Ukraine – don’t think you will get to the EU through geopolitics. Many EU states will be delighted if you are not part of the EU.”
“Ukraine lost herself. There is something Palestinian about it. They never missed a chance to miss a chance. They still don’t understand that you don’t negotiate with the EU, you simply have to accept the EU acquis. This is very hard and humiliating, but the only way.”
“Ua – has two ways forward. The easy way – to become a Ru province. The hard way – to become the EU. What they want to do – is their business.”
“Of course it is attractive if Russia offers you to save the aircraft industry. We don’t do that sort of things. We help create framework conditions. We are like Vatican. We move slowly.”
Russia
“The Russian leadership is very business-oriented. But the EU-Russia relationship is very talk-oriented, not result-oriented. EU should be more action-oriented and operative.”
“The concept of soft-power – never strong in Russia; ‘pooled sovereignty’ – the same. Ru is hard-power and sovereignty-oriented (just like the US).”
“Ru priorities: 1) CIS – overriding priority for Russia. 2) US – relations with the other guys who have the bombs. Not soft power, but bombs. 3)……. Not clear? Is it the EU? China? BRIC? It is debatable which one. EU- is probably higher than China on the list of priorities, but not higher than the combination of all other priorities.”
“Russia will be completely secure – when it will be seen as a friend by the smallest of its neighbour.”
“Often in EU-Russia meetings. The EU is extremely polite and formal. But the only one being straight and frank was Lavrov.”
“The further a state is from Russia – the easiest is to have a conversation with Russia. The easiest conversation I would have with Lavrov is about economic situation in Asia-Pacific.”

The hard way does not mean it is the better way for Ukraine :-)

Tremura in fata rusilor. Am observat politetea europeana in cazul alegerilor falsificate din r. UE nu-i pasa de statele mici foste sovietice.
